When I was in Japan, preparion was taking place to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Hello Kitty, and it seemed like a pretty big thing. Fancy fasion designers and models were hired to make a Hello Kitty themed fashion show. A public booth was set up with a pink ink pad and stamp so that you could put the Hello Kitty logo on any of your personal belongings (assuming it has a flat surfaces somewhere).

Some guy did a Hello Kitty crop circle (or at least photoshopped one).
