Shortly after the Google Map post, I came across another online map. map.search.ch uses actual satelite photos, so when you zoom in close enough, you can see individual houses. Unfortunately, it seems to only have maps for Switzerland. There's also map24.com which uses a java applet for animated zooming, distance mapping and other neat features. However, I find because it actually animates the zooming in, for instance, it's slower to use than Google's offering. On the plus side, it has mouseovers with detailed information, and icons representing hospitals and such. Finally, someone brought up some funny directions that MSN Maps gives. The green flag is the starting point, and the red flag is the destination. Check out this, this and this.
