Microsoft issued 3 new "critical" security patches. Failure to apply them could allow a remote attack to take over your machine, or so I've heard. Go to http://update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/ if you run Windows, and http://office.microsoft.com/officeupdate/ if you use Office. Or if you're paranoid, type the addresses in yourself (who knows where I might have made these links point to?!) As a side note, I've noticed they've updated WindowsUpdate itself. Now there's a picture of some flowers.
Apparently I haven't update my office in a long time, as I had to install 8 updates! One of them apparently has to do with updating the spellchecker and grammar checker after a reform of the French language (which happened in what, 1647?)
BTW, that was a joke. Out of curiosity, I did some research on the French language reform, and turns out the last reform was on December 6, 1990, but there was a lot of resistence to the changes. It wasn't until 2004 that a commitee was set up to promote the modernization of the French language. More info at wikipedia.
On the topic of languages, any idea how to write "Squirrel" in Katakana? The best I can come up with is Su Ku E Ru which sounds more like "Squell" than "Squirrel".
