Oh man, the very first day I get recruited into the service, during the fucking acceptance speech, we get attacked. Helicopters started flying out of the sky with minguns, troopers dropping out and shit. I don't think I even had much more than a single clip in my rifle. Lucky for me these things aren't just decorative.

I'm what they call a "save house" now, and I don't know if this'll be my last few moments alive. I just want to mention that I don't want to be kept in a persistent vegetative state. Just in case.

Oh fuck yeah! I've been given some sort of cyborg body. The HUD is freaking awesome! Okay, I don't remember much details about the battle, but like these Catapult/Madcat looking mechs (only lamer) started storming the Hong Kong base and then these friggin helicopters start mini-gunning the soldiers, and it was looking pretty bad. I bet they picked me 'cause they noticed I was a fucking hero. I mean, while everyone else was like ducking and hiding behind walls and shit (BTW, those walls don't do shit to stop bullets) I fucking chucked a grenade, timed the motherfucker in mid air, and detonated it right as it bounced off the windshield of that fucking mech. And it wasn't a fluke either! I did that shit THREE FUCKING TIMES! Eat that, motherfucker!

Anyway, I round around the corner, and GET THIS! A turreted minigun. I'm like "Fuck yes!" so I grab that motherfucker and start laying waste to the baddies. A couple more mechs popped out, and I fucking smoked them too! Even the fucking copters, I blew right out of the sky. That's when the motherfuckers decided to nuke us. I mean, I don't know if it was a nuke, but some plane dropped some shit out there. There was this guy wounded on the ground, and I figured the right thing to do was to run out, carry him, and bring him back into the building for cover or something, right? Big fucking mistake. So I'm running as fast as I can to the guy, right, and he's sticking his arm out, so I instinctively respond by sticking mine out too, but what the fuck? We're just gonna hold hands or something? No, he had to keep his arms tucked to his sides so I could grab him and hoist him over my shoulder. But we were both panicking and not thinking straight. Anyway, it didn't fucking matter, cause just as both our arms were outstretch and just about to touch, I see out of the corner of my eye that the bomb was like 2 inches off the ground. Yeah, I should have just ran for cover like anyone else. Oh well, we all learn something everyday.

Then I'm like in a hospital, so I guess it wasn't a nuke, but I had like a massive headache, so I couldn't remember much. All I know is now I'm a fucking cyborg. Booya! I got fucking GPS and objective beacon locators and shit and I don't even know what the fuck else I've got on here. Anyway, I'm supposed to "report in" somewhere. Obviously they want to play with this new toy (referring to me), 'cause they transmitted a beacon to me. It's cool 'cause I can see the beacon through walls and shit, but after a while it got kind of annoying. Luckily, they put in a way for me to disable it. Also pretty cool si when I look at people, it shows their name and health. Anyway, I better wrap this up and show up to wherever it is I'm supposed to go. He said something about an armory or something, but I wasn't really paying attention, so I don't really know how I'm meeting or what.

So I guess I'm in Japan now, judging my the statues in this new base and the commander... I basically had to do a bunch of gopher-bullshit, but I did nab a pretty nifty gun. They call it the "kicker", and it looks like a slightly lamer rip-off of the gravity gun from Half Life 2. Of course, I haven't played Half Life 2 yet, so I don't know for sure, but it uses "kinetic displacement" or something to push and pull stuff. Basically, a gravity gun.

Feels like a lot of the soldiers here are kind of gay... Like they're all hitting on me or something. "It's a pleasure working with you sir" and "Know that you've got someone watching your back" and stuff. I don't have anything against gay people... I just hope they realize I'm not one of them.

Anyway, the mission is something about blowing up turrets — four of them — and some sort of time limit. I've been getting those headaches again, so I wasn't too focused during the briefing. I'm sure they'll give me beacon probes or something anyway. Speaking of which, this base I'm in is like a fucking maze! I kept walking in circles and getting lost and shit. Whatever. The doctor told me some of my augmentations are half-broken or something, and they'll activate over time. Right now I got "infra-red" and Matrix time. I put quotations around "infra-red" because it's supposed to let me see enemies through walls or something, but when I tried it out in the base, I couldn't see anyone through anything. Maybe it somehow only shows enemies through walls. Maybe that's just plain bullshit though. The Matrix Time thing I used once, but apparently I got limited uses for that. Don't know how the system works, 'cause I seem to have infinite infra-red, but if they say I've got limited Matrix time, then I'm not gonna mess waste it.

Anyway, the missions starting now, and we're riding in helicopters (fireflies, they call 'em). Hope I don't puke on the ride.

Okay, so I found out we're still in Hong Kong. When we landed, there was already a large group waiting for us with turrets and shit. I kind of forgot that I'm not bullet proof, so I took some nasty shots. Anyway, the fucking general (I don't really know what his real rank is, but he's bossing me around on the telecom) tells me I have to run out into the fucking street and take out those turret guys! Is he fucking nuts? But then he reminds me that I have the Matrix time thingy. Oh yeah... So I kick it in and, well... the bad guys move slow, but not so slow that I can see the bullets flying through the air or anything. Anyway, I take out the turret guys, and then a tank comes busting down the street, with me right in the middle of it! I'm like, okay, I duck into a side alley and I figure if I stay low, he won't see me, right? At first it was looking good, as he drove by, I could see his cannons weren't pointed at me or anything. Except he parks right in front of the alley, start rotating his cannon, and stops with it pointed right at me. Fuck no. So I know I gotta get out of here, but I don't know if I should use my Matrix time or not. I'm looking all over my HUD for some sort of counter showing me how many uses I have left, but I can't see one. But fuck it, I've got like a split second to react, and better to lose the Matrix thing that to lose my life, so I kick it in, and start dashing like mad. All the while, the commander is piping in my ear about using grenades and forgetting about bullets. Yeah, no duh Einstein (is that how you spell it?) as I'm running away from the Tank as fast as I can, still with Matrix time on (meaning it feels like I'm running fucking slow too), I chuck a grenade. Just as the grenade reaches its apex, I see flames billowing out of the tank's cannon, and a big fucking shell coming out right at me. ho-ly-shit... I dive to the right just as the shell flies right by my. Thank fucking god for Matrix time. Anyway, I'm out of grenades, so I scramble up the stairs to where that turret guy was, and sure enough, he had a few grenades stashed on his corpse. I chuck two more at the tank, and apparently that did it. I didn't actually get to see the tank blow up, 'cause every time I threw a grenade out the window, the tank would respond by firing a shell up in here, so I had to duck back behind a wall.

Anyway, with the tank down, I followed the objective cursor thing into a tunnel where some guys with rocket launchers (WTF?) were hiding. While rockets are usually a scary thing, these babies seem to have a pretty small blast radius, and long reload times, so it was actually pretty easy to take the rocket guys out with a rifle. Made it through the tunnel, and now I'm in another save room. Oh, and if I die, and you guys can take my robot parts and put me back together, please do so. Wish me luck.
