18 year old William Poole was arrested because he wrote a short story about zombies as a highschool homework assignment. His grandparents found the story and turned it into the police, who are charging him with second-degree felony terrorist threatening. "Anytime you make any threat or possess matter involving a school or function it's a felony in the state of Kentucky," said Winchester Police detective Steven Caudill. Poole disputes that he was threatening anyone. "It didn't mention nobody who lives in [the county where I live], didn't mention [the High School I attend], didn't mention no principal or cops, nothing." A judge raised Poole's bond from one to five thousand dollars after prosecutors requested it, citing the seriousness of the charge. Poole is being held at the Clark County Detention Center.
If I could find that kid's e-mail address, I'd write him to give him my sympathy.
